What does Period Designs Company offer?
We handcraft custom cabinetry of the finest quality, all-wood custom cabinetry for period inspired homes, for the kitchen, bath, or other rooms made in the outskirts of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Where is Period Designs Company located?

How does one go about starting the design process?
A couple of ways:

How do you get the room layout?
If you are local to the Cincinnati area, we can come take the measurements, or we can send you our cabinetry design worksheet, where you can sketch out the room with measurements and fill in any information you would like for your cabinetry.
Do you have set pricing for your cabinetry?
Since our cabinetry is custom made and designed and built for you and your style, a set price is not one size fits all. However, we have two lines of cabinetry to choose from:
1. Our Period Select line, which is still very customizable, but limited in options such as finish and hardware options.
2. Our Premium line, which is only limited by your imagination on sizes and options. With this line, there is more flexibility to match your home’s style and your needs.

What is the average price of cabinetry from Period Designs?
We create high-quality kitchens, not average ones. For budgeting, our kitchen designs typically range from $5,000 to $60,000, depending on the size. Projects that include extra rooms like pantries, libraries, bathrooms, or entertainment rooms can cost more based on their complexity.
Does Period Designs Company install their cabinetry?
We do install most of our cabinetry, but you, the homeowner, may wish to your own install or have your contractor do it as well. At Period Designs, we can help either way to make it go as smooth as possible.
What materials are used in your cabinetry?
Our box materials are 3/4” maple plywood sides, bottoms, tops, and shelves. The backs are 1/2” plywood all with dado, glue & screwed construction. The face frames are made from a hardwood of your choice, which is 1” thick along with the doors and drawers. Our Period Select line use the same box components with a slightly different construction method. The face frame, doors, and drawers are 3/4”.
Do you make dovetail drawer boxes?
Yes, our standard drawer box is 5/8” maple sides and backs with a half blind dovetail joint front & back.
What finishes do you use?
When it comes to our Premium Cabinetry, the choices are limitless along with the type of finishing desired. See our wood finishes for more information.
Our Period Select cabinetry has more of a simple paint and stain option.
What door styles do you offer?
We currently have many styles we use that are common to period cabinetry, and we also can custom create or match a style of your choice.
Do you make countertops?
Yes, we make all of our wood countertops with the wood of your choice.
Do you deliver your cabinetry?
Yes, we do deliver and install, or you may also pick them up. We can have them shipped to anywhere in the nation.
